Unusual Lingo

Here at Peoples, we're not your conventional bank. You may have heard us throw around some terms that may seem a little…well…unusual. Because we want you to feel welcome, we thought we would take the time to introduce you to some of that lingo, which has much more meaning than typical “bank jargon.”

"Guest"
By definition, a Guest is a person who holds an account with Peoples Bank in any capacity. But the reason we refer to our customers as Guests is because we treat everyone who walks through these doors as a guest in our home. True, we provide the simple pleasures such as hot coffee, cold beverages, freshly-baked cookies, a welcoming, comfortable lobby (television provided), and a warm greeting. But we also offer something truly unique: unmatched service with bankers who provide personal attention.

"The Grandma Test"
Much like the Golden Rule, we hold ourselves to a high standard of service. Essentially, the Grandma Test means that we treat our Guests as we would our own grandmothers. For example, if we discovered one of our grandmas should have an interest-bearing account, we would make sure she knew it. At Peoples, we apply that same philosophy when working with everyone who walks in, regardless of whether they bank here or not. Because we know that’s the way Grandma would want it.

"Store"
When you go to the store (grocery, electronic, clothing etc.) you expect great customer service. As consumers, we applaud those stores that treat us with respect, and frown upon those that make us take a number. And let’s face it; some stores know how customer service is done, and others…need a little work. At Peoples Bank, we don’t have branches, we have stores. A store is a place you should be able to walk into, get treated right, and leave satisfied with your purchase. That’s how we feel banking should be done, and that’s how we operate. No numbers; no excuses; just great service.

Now that you’ve received some insight, you may be asking yourself, “What does this all mean?” Well we do have one last definition for you.

"Banking Unusual"
We bake cookies every morning. We refer to our customers as Guests. We ask, “What would Grandma want?” in every situation. Our Personal Bankers are trained in multiple areas, allowing you to take care of a wide variety of tasks, right at the front line. When you dial our number, you’ll speak to a human being immediately; not spend 15 minutes tediously dealing with a robot. Our bankers are honest, proactive and genuine when assisting those we serve.

Not to mention that we just increased your vocabulary.

All these things and more, make Peoples Bank a breath of fresh air in the banking business. We do things on a daily basis that are unconventional, unheard of, unmatched and undeniably unique. In another word…unusual.

That’s Banking Unusual. That’s Peoples.

Happy Spring

Spring Fever has hit Louisburg! To celebrate the long-awaited beginning of the season, Louisburg Bankers delivered daffodils to various businesses around town. And as if beautiful yellow flowers weren’t enough, they threw in a couple of our warm chocolate chip cookies. Our Bankers were pollinating the town with happiness the same way bees pollinate flowers. Ahhhhh, Spring is in the air!

$19,044.89

Thanks to you, we raised $19,044.89 to help the victims of the Haitian earthquake. As the photos and horror stories flooded in after the disaster rocked Haiti, Peoples Bank became a collection point to raise donations for the American Red Cross.

We are in awe of your support. In times of crisis, it is such an emotional experience to see people pulling together as a community, a nation and as humans to help those in need.

Thank you for your contributions and we vow to continue to support charities such as the American Red Cross who help the helpless, feed the hungry and provide hope for the hopeless.
